1983	Incorporation of JGI, Inc. （With the partial transferal of personnel and facilities from geophysical headquarters of Japan Petroleum Exploration Co. Ltd.(JAPEX).）
1984	Transferal of JAPEX's Computing/ Data Processing Departments to JGI. Beijing Office was opened.
1986	Transferal of JAPEX's Seismic Fields Operation Department to JGI.
1994	Head Office moved to Higashi Shinagawa, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo.
1995	Ranzan Research Center was opened.
1998	Head Office moved to Otsuka, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo.
2002	Sapporo, Akita and Nagaoka Offices were opened.
2003	ISO9001:2000 Certificate was issued.
2009	ISO9001:2008 Certificate was issued.
2011	Start service with PT.ECI as JGI agent in Indonesia
2016	ISO14001:2015 and OHSAS18001:2007 were issued.
