Seismic Service
JGI has been providing full-scale broadband seismic exploration service since 2020, using INOVA UNIVIB2(broadband vibrator), INOVA VIBPRO-HD(vibrator control system), JGI VIBNAV(navigation and surveying system) and high sensitivity broadband geophones.
State-of-the-art broadband seismic technology significantly enhances imaging resolution for both deep and shallow targets and improves the reliability of Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) compared to conventional methods by expanding the frequency range of the recorded data.
State-of-the-art Broadband Vibrator
UV2 has a moderate footprint, yet delivers a large force at extremely low frequencies below 5Hz, and also transmits vibrational force effectively to the ground at high frequencies above 100Hz.
The low-frequency component contributes to the high accuracy of FWI velocity estimation and Acoustic Impedance inversion, as well as improving the SNR of deep reflected waves.
Effective energy in the high-frequency band above 100Hz contributes to high-resolution imaging of shallow targets.
The base plate structure of the UV2 is designed to efficiently transmit broadband vibrations to the ground, covering a wide range from very low to very high frequencies. This enables the UV2 to generate high-quality source waveforms.
Compared to conventional large-sized vibrators (HEMI) and Small-sized vibrators (Envirovibe), the UV2, the latest broadband vibrator, has intermediate specifications in size, weight, and turning radius. However, thanks to its large mass stroke, it delivers vibrational force at very low frequencies that rivals that of larger vibrators.
